NXP Semiconductors PNEV5190BP NFC Development Board is a flexible and easy-to-use development tool for the PN5190 NFC Frontend. The PN5190 is a highly integrated Near-Field Communication (NFC) forum-compliant frontend IC for contactless communication at 13.56MHz. The PN5190 is well-suited for use in challenging RF and space-constrained environments such as POS terminals or e-Locks. The device features strong RF output power, adaptive wave-shaping features, and high receiver sensitivity, all while using efficient power-saving modes to extend battery life.
The NXP Semiconductors PNEV5190BP Development Board features a pre-installed PN5190 in a VFBGA-64 package, along with a Kinetis Microcontroller. The Board also includes an integrated PCB antenna, which can be removed and replaced by a custom antenna for the target design.
The PNEV5190BP Development Board can be connected via USB to a Microsoft Windows-based PC. NFC Cockpit, an easy-to-use Graphic User Interface (GUI), allows the configuration and optimization of products based on NXP’s NFC IC’s without the need of programming even a single line of code. The NFC Cockpit software can optimize the RF performance of the PN5190 antenna tuning, the DPC calibration, and the related TX and RX optimization. All the relevant registers can be modified and fine-tuned using NFC Cockpit. After register optimization, the settings can be stored in the PN5190 EEPROM or output to an XML file.
