Vishay SiC45x microBuck® DC-DC Converters are PMBus 1.3-compliant, non-isolated DC-DC buck regulators with integrated MOSFETs. The SiC45x are capable of supplying up to 40A (SiC450), 25A (SiC451), 15A (SiC453), and 12A (SiC454) continuous output current. The output voltage of these devices is digitally adjustable from 0.3V to 12V from a 4.5V to 20.0V input with switching frequencies up to 1.5MHz.
The architecture of the SiC45x delivers ultrafast transient response with minimum output capacitance and tight regulation over a broad load range. These devices have integrated internal compensation and are stable with any type of output capacitor. These devices incorporate a power-saving scheme that significantly increases light load efficiency.
The SiC450, SiC451, and SiC453 allow power block configuration programs to be stored in non-volatile memory (NVM). Various operation parameters can all be locally stored and used to determine fault behavior. The operation of these devices is firmware-based and is field upgradable. A pin strap option is also available for default configuration without PMBus.
The Vishay SiC45x microBuck DC-DC Converters are available in a lead-free, power-enhanced PowerPAK MLP34-57 package.
