Texas Instruments UCC28C56EVM-066 Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments UCC28C56EVM-066 Evaluation Module facilitates the evaluation of a highly efficient primary-side controlled (with AUX winding) flyback auxiliary power supply for EV and HEV automotive power trains. The UCC28C56EVM-066 design features 15.2V (typ), 40W output for 800V battery systems.

The TI UCC28C56EVM-066 evaluation module supplies 40W over the input voltage range from 125V to 1000V. The exact output voltage is load-dependent. For instance, from 40V to 125V input, the design will supply 20W.

The UCC28C56EVM-066 evaluation module employs a 1700V silicon-carbide (SiC) MOSFET, making it suitable for 800V battery systems.

Features

  • Very wide input voltage range: 40V to 1kV, output: 15.2V (typ) at 40W
  • Primary side control (with AUX winding) eliminates the need for an optocoupler and TL431
  • Automotive-qualified controller designed to drive 1700V SiC MOSFETs
  • Miniature, patented HV startup circuit
  • High-efficiency, high-density two-layer PCB design
