Texas Instruments TPS542A50EVM-059 Converter Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments TPS542A50EVM-059 Converter Evaluation Module (EVM) allows users to evaluate the TPS542A50. The TPS542A50 is a fixed frequency with a non-compensation external synchronous buck converter with integrated MOSFETs. It provides a fixed 1V output at up to 15A from a 12V input bus. The Texas Instruments TPS542A50EVM-059 is set up to allow the user to easily measure the performance of the TPS542A50 buck converter under a wide range of input voltages and load currents. The evaluation module features two fully independent circuits.

The first circuit is the lower half or bottom-circuit of the evaluation module. This circuit maximizes the efficiency and performance of the TPS542A50 in applications that are less constrained by the layout area. The second circuit is the upper half or top-circuit of the evaluation module. This circuit highlights the small layout area (17mm x 14mm) that is required by the TPS542A50 converter and all external components while still delivering high performance and efficiency for space-critical applications.
