Texas Instruments TPS53689 Step-down Multiphase Controllers

Texas Instruments TPS53689 Step-down Multiphase Controllers are VR14 SVID compliant, featuring two channels, built-in non-volatile memory (NVM), and a PMBus™ interface. The device is fully compatible with the TI NexFET™ power stages.

The TI TPS53689 Step-down Multiphase Controllers provide a fast transient response, low output capacitance, and good dynamic current sharing via advanced control features. These cutting-edge control features include D-CAP+ architecture with undershoot reduction (USR) and overshoot reduction (OSR). Additionally, the TPS53689 offers a novel phase interleaving strategy and dynamic phase shedding for efficiency improvement at different loads.

The device supports adjustable output voltage slew rate control and adaptive voltage positioning. Furthermore, the TPS53689 supports the PMBus communication interface for reporting the telemetry of voltage, current, power, temperature, and fault conditions to the host system. All programmable parameters are configured through the PMBus interface and can be stored in NVM as the new default values to minimize the external component count.

The TPS53689 Controllers is housed in a thermally enhanced 40-pin QFN packaged and is rated to operate from –40°C to 125°C.
