Texas Instruments TLV61070A 2A Boost Converter is a synchronous boost converter with 0.5V ultra-low input voltage. The device provides a power supply solution for portable equipment and smart devices powered by various batteries and supercapacitors. The TLV61070A has a typical 2.5A valley switch current limit over the full temperature range. With a wide input voltage range of 0.5V to 5.5V, the TLV61070A supports supercapacitor backup power applications, which may deeply discharge the supercapacitor.
The TLV61070A operates at a 1MHz switching frequency when the input voltage exceeds 1.5V. The switching frequency decreases gradually to 0.55MHz when the input voltage is below 1.5V down to 1V. The TLV61070A enters power-save mode at light load conditions to maintain high efficiency over the entire load current range. The TLV61070A consumes a 20µA quiescent current from VOUT in light load conditions. During a shutdown, the TLV61070A is completely disconnected from the input power and only consumes a 0.1µA current to achieve extended battery life. The TLV61070A has 5.7V output overvoltage protection, output short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown protection.
The Texas Instruments TLV61070A offers a very small solution size with a 2.9mm × 1.6mm SOT23-6 (DBV) package and a minimum amount of external components.
