Texas Instruments TDES4940 Bridge Deserializers

Texas Instruments TDES4940 Bridge Deserializers are V³Link™ enhanced video to DisplayPort (DP)/Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) bridge devices. With a chipset, the TDES4940 receives a high-speed serialized interface over low-cost 50Ω coax or STP/STQ cables.

The TI TDES4940 Bridge Deserializers are VESA DP v1.4a/eDP v1.4b compatible devices that support advanced features such as HBR3 and SuperFrame formats. The deserializers facilitate video resolutions of 4K 30-bit color and higher. The V³Link Enhanced Video aids video and audio data transmission and complete duplex control, including I²C and GPIO data over the same link. Consolidating video data and control over V³Link Enhanced Video lanes lowers the interconnect size and weight and simplifies system design. EMI is minimized by employing low-voltage differential signaling, data scrambling, and randomization. Using the compatible V³Link mode, the TDES4940 delivers up to 2K resolutions with 24-bit color depth over a single/dual link and HDCP v1.4 support when paired with an HDCP-capable serializer.
