Texas Instruments OPT4060DTSEVM Evaluation Module is a platform for evaluating the performance of the OPT4060. The OPT4060 is a high-speed, high-precision, rgbw color sensor operated in various lighting conditions and behind various cover materials.
The TI OPT4060DTSEVM incorporates two PCBs. The first is the OPTMBEVM board that comprises a USB interface to communicate with a computer operating a GUI evaluation software, a socket for plugging in a coupon board, and a TI MSP430 microprocessor that functions as a bridge between the PC and the device plugged into the socket. This board also supplies power to the light sensor and sends and receives proper digital signals between the light sensor and the PC. The second board is the OPT4060 coupon board, which includes the OPT4060 and a decoupling capacitor. The coupon board plugs into the motherboard permitting quick evaluation using the TI software when plugged in. It will enable the coupon to be removed for direct access to the device pins for assessment in a system.
