Texas Instruments MCT8315A FET BLDC Driver

Texas Instruments MCT8315A FET Brushless DC (BLDC) Driver is a single-chip, code-free, and sensorless trapezoidal control three-phase BLDC motor driver with 3kHz electrical frequency. This BLDC driver is designed for 12V to 24V BLDC motors requiring up to 4A peak current. The MCT8315A driver integrates three ½-bridges with 40V absolute maximum capability and a low RDS(ON) of 240mΩ (high-side + low-side FETs). This BLDC driver features built-in power management circuits, including a voltage-adjustable buck regulator and LDO that can be used to power external circuits.

The MCT8315A driver offers speed loop accuracy of 3% with an internal clock and 1% accuracy with an external clock reference. The integrated protection features include Supply Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO), supply Over Voltage Protection (OVP), motor lock detection, Overcurrent Protection (OCP), thermal warning, and shutdown. Typical applications include BLDC motor modules, robotic vacuum suction motors, motorcycle fuel pumps, and CPAP machines.
