Texas Instruments MCF8315A FET BLDC Driver

Texas Instruments MCF8315A FET BLDC Driver is a single-chip, code-free, and sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC) control three-phase BLDC motor driver with code-free FOC. This Brushless-DC (BLDC) motor driver is designed for driving speed-controlled 12V to 24V BLDC or Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) requiring up to 4A peak current. The MCF8315A driver integrates three ½-bridges with 40V absolute maximum capability and a low RDS(ON) of 240mΩ. This driver features built-in power management circuits, including a voltage-adjustable buck regulator and LDO that can be used to power external circuits.

The MCT8315A driver offers speed loop accuracy of 3% with an internal clock and 1% accuracy with an external clock reference. This driver supports up to 75kHz PWM frequency for low inductance motor support. The integrated protection features include Supply Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO), supply Over Voltage Protection (OVP), motor lock detection, Overcurrent Protection (OCP), thermal warning, and shutdown. Typical applications include air purifiers and humidifier fans, BLDC motor modules, washer and dishwasher pumps, and CPAP machines.
