Texas Instruments LMR38025-Q1 Synchronous Buck Converter is designed to regulate over a wide input voltage range, minimizing the use of external surge-suppression components. This converter operates at a 4.2V to 80V input voltage range with a 97% maximum duty cycle and a spread spectrum option for reduced peak emissions. The LMR38025-Q1 buck converter delivers up to 2.5A continuous output current, 200kHz to 2.2MHz adjustable switching frequency, and ultra-low 40µA operating quiescent current. This converter features a high-voltage enable-pin to facilitate the device by connecting it to the wide input-supply voltage or precise UVLO control across start-up and shutdown. The LMR38025-Q1 buck converter incorporates a power-good flag function with a built-in filter and delay. This power-good flag function properly indicates system status and eliminates the need for an external supervisor.
The LMR38025-Q1 buck converter also features a cycle-by-cycle current limit, hiccup mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown in case of excessive power dissipation. Typical applications include automotive inverter and motor control, automotive DC/DC converters, automotive battery management systems, and automotive 48V mild hybrid ECU bias supplies. This buck converter is AEC-Q100 grade 1 automotive qualified for automotive applications.
