Texas Instruments DRV8845 Quad H-Bridge Motor Driver is designed for various industrial applications. The device can drive up to two stepper motors or four brushed-DC motors. Each full-bridge output is rated up to 1.5A and 38V. The DRV8845 includes pulse width modulation (PWM) current regulators and 2-bit nonlinear DACs (digital-to-analog converters). This feature allows stepper motors to be controlled in full, half, and quarter steps; and DC motors in forward, reverse, and coast modes.
The PWM current regulator uses the smart tune decay mode for motor-audible noise and vibration reduction, increased accuracy, and reduced power dissipation. Internal synchronous rectification control circuitry is provided to improve power dissipation during PWM operation. Protection features include thermal shutdown with hysteresis (OTSD), undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and overcurrent protection (OCP). Special power-up sequencing is not required. The Texas Instruments DRV8845 is supplied in a 6mm x 6mm, 36-pin QFN package with an exposed pad for enhanced thermal performance.
