Texas Instruments DRV8434SEVM Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments DRV8434SEVM Evaluation Module allows users to evaluate the DRV8434S device. The DRV8434S is a fully integrated stepper motor driver, supporting up to 2.5A full-scale current with an internal micro-stepping indexer, smart tune decay technology, advanced stall detection algorithm, and integrated current sensing.

The TI DRV8434SEVM Evaluation Module uses an MSP430™ microcontroller and a USB interface chip to manage communication from the GUI software application installed on a computer. The GUI sends serial commands to the MSP430 to control the device signals, monitor faults, and drive a motor.

Features

  • 4.5V to 48V operating voltage range
  • Up to 4A peak current
  • A simple STEP/DIR input interface and SPI communication with daisy chain support
  • Integrated current sense and micro-stepping indexer
  • Smart tune technology
  • Stall detection
