Texas Instruments DRV8214EVM Evaluation Module

Texas Instruments DRV8214EVM Evaluation Module is designed to evaluate the DRV8214 brushed DC motor driver with stall detection and ripple counting. This evaluation module is programmed and configured to work unusually and begin spinning motors immediately. The DRV8214 driver is an integrated motor driver with an N-channel H-bridge, charge pump, current sense output, current regulation, and protection circuitry. The DRV8214EVM module comes with a GUI to control the motor driver easily. This evaluation module is ideal for brushed DC motors, solenoid, and relay driving, portable printers, Point-of-Sale (POS) devices, battery powered DC motor applications.

Features

  • On-board 3.3V LDO for digital voltage supply
  • eZ-FET lite USB-based on-board emulator for ease of programming and debugging MSP430 microcontroller
  • 1.65V to 11V operating motor supply voltage range
  • 4A peak, 2A RMS high output current capability
  • Ripple counting for position monitoring and motor speed regulation
  • Adjustable op-amp gain for high-accuracy current sensing down to 10mA
  • Main signal header with removable shunts to disconnect main signals going to the motor driver IC from the MCU
  • GUI software to control EVM and DRV IC
  • Supports 1.8V, 3.3V, and 5V logic inputs
