Texas Instruments bq25750EVM Controller Evaluation Module (EVM)

Texas Instruments bq25750EVM Controller Evaluation Module (EVM) is a complete evaluation system for the bq25750. The bq25750 is a bi-directional charge controller with a wide input and output voltage range of up to 70V. The Texas Instruments bq25750 offers high-efficiency battery charging with output CC-CV control and direct power path control over a wide voltage range. The device provides a high-density solution that is easy to use by integrating all the loop compensation for the buck-boost converter.

Features

  • Synchronous switch mode buck-boost charger for 1s to 14s battery or super cap configuration for up to 20A charging with 50mA resolution
  • Built-in MPPT to maximize power from solar panel arrays
  • Wide input and output voltage range
  • Power up from battery (reverse mode) output 4V to 60V
  • Includes inductor autodetection to optimize circuit performance
  • Direct power path control

Required Equipment

  • Power Supplies
    • A power supply capable of supplying 40V at 8A is required
    • This part can handle the larger voltage and current; however, larger power levels are not necessary for this procedure
  • Load 1
    • A Kepco load: BOP36-6M, DC 0 to ±36V, 0 to ±6A (or higher), or equivalent
    • When testing without a real battery, connect 2000uF of capacitance across the input
  • Meters
    • Six Fluke 75 multimeters (equivalent or better) or three equivalent voltage meters and three equivalent current meters
  • Computer
    • A computer with at least one USB port and a USB cable
  • EV2400 Communication Kit
  • Software
    • Download and properly install bqStudio
