Texas Instruments AWR1843AOP Automotive Radar Sensors

Texas Instruments AWR1843AOP Automotive Radar Sensors are Antenna-On-Package devices operating in the 76GHz to 81GHz band. The AWR1843AOP utilizes TI’s low-power 45nm RFCMOS process and allows unprecedented levels of integration in a tiny form factor. The AWR1843AOP Sensors are ideal for low-power, self-monitored, ultra-accurate radar systems in automotive applications.

The TI AWR1843AOP Automotive Radar Sensors integrate a DSP subsystem consisting of the high-performance C674x DSP for radar signal processing. The device features a BIST processor subsystem responsible for radio configuration, control, and calibration. Furthermore, the Automotive Radar Sensors include a user-programmable Arm® Cortex-R4F for automotive interfacing.

The Hardware Accelerator block (HWA) performs radar processing and offloads the DSP to execute higher-level algorithms. Simple programming model changes can enable a wide variety of sensor applications with the possibility of dynamic reconfiguration for implementing a multimode sensor. Additionally, the device is furnished as a complete platform solution, including reference hardware design, software drivers, sample configurations, API guide, and user documentation.
