Pulse Electronics PM21x High-Isolation IATF and AEC-Q200 Qualified Transformers are designed for push-pull, half-bridge, and full-bridge power-supply topologies for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. These transformers play a critical role in providing application and safety isolation between high-voltage sources and sensitive or user-accessible low-voltage circuits. The PM21x Transformers allow for a compact and cost-effective method to isolate between critical voltage rails within an automotive system. Each platform comes with multiple turn ratio options, allowing users to find a solution that is optimized to application requirements.
Pulse Electronics PM21x Transformers are suitable for a wide range of low-power automotive applications where high voltage safety isolation is critical. These include battery management systems (BMS) and communication modules, HV inverters, motor control, onboard charging (OBC) solutions, and energy storage solutions.
The PM2180x series offer functional insulation for isolated power supply drivers with 2.5KVrms isolation (380Vrms continuous). The UL-approved PM2185x series provides 4KVrms isolation (550Vrms continuous) in a patented sidecar package. Signal isolation can be built into the IC and, for higher isolation and efficiency, an external isolated power supply is required to power the transceiver. The Pulse PH9185 series is ideally suited for this purpose. The PM2190x high-isolation transformers provide reinforced insulation for isolated power supply drivers, 8mm creepage, 5KVrms isolation (1000Vrms continuous), and UL and TUV approvals.
