NXP Semiconductors NVT2002 Bidirectional Voltage Level Translator

NXP Semiconductors NVT2002 Bidirectional Voltage Level Translator allows for seamless communication between devices operating at different voltage levels. NXP Semiconductors NVT2002 has a wide operating range of 1.0V to 3.6V (Vref(A)) and 1.8V to 5.5V (Vref(B)). These bidirectional voltage translators eliminate the need for a direction pin in open-drain and push-pull applications. The NVT2002 can easily handle transmission speeds up to 33MHz, making the devices ideal for open-drain systems with a 50pF capacitance and a pull-up of 197Ω.

Features

  • Provides bidirectional voltage translation with no direction pin
  • Allows voltage level translation between
    • 1.0V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V Vref(A) or 5V Vref(B)
    • 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V Vref(A) or 5V Vref(B)
    • 1.8V, 3.3V Vref(A) or 5V Vref(B)
    • 2.5V Vref(A) and 5V Vref(B)
    • 3.3V Vref(A) and 5V Vref(B)
  • Low 3.5Ω ON-state connection between input and output ports provides less signal distortion
  • Less than 1.5ns maximum propagation delay
  • 5V tolerant I/O ports to support mixed-mode signal operation
  • High-impedance An and Bn pins for EN = LOW
  • Lock-up free operation
  • Flow through pinout for ease of printed-circuit board trace routing
  • ESD protection exceeds 4kV HBM per JESD22-A114 and 1000V CDM per JESD22-C101

Applications

  • Bidirectional voltage level translation between 1.0V and 5V
  • Open-drain and push-pull applications
  • Bit widths ranging from 1-bit to 2-bit
  • Level translation for transmission speeds < 33MHz
  • Suitable for open-drain systems with a 50pF capacitance and a pull-up of 197Ω
