NXP Semiconductor FRDM-KW38 Freedom Development Board is a highly configurable and low-power development board designed to evaluate KW39A/38A/37A/38Z/37Z (KW38) wireless Microcontrollers (MCUs). The FRDM-KW38 board offers easy-to-use mass-storage device mode flash programmer, a virtual serial port, and standard programming and run-control capabilities. This freedom development board consists of the KW38A device with a 32MHz reference oscillator crystal, RF circuitry (including antenna) and 4Mbit external serial flash. The board also includes CAN and LIN transceivers and supporting circuitry in the popular freedom board form-factor. This FRDM-KW38 board is a standalone PCB and supports application development with NXP’s Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) and generic FSK libraries.
The USB Dongle can be used as a wireless sniffer to monitor the wireless communication packets in the targeted network. This can be connected to a PC and installing the required monitoring software. The USB dongle alternatively can be used as a wireless node with an easy connection to a PC or other USB enabled device.
