Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP4313 Synchronous Step-Down Converters

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP4313 Synchronous Step-Down Converters offer a configurable frequency with integrated internal high-side and low-side power MOSFETs (HS-FET and LS-FET). The device delivers up to 3A of highly efficient output current (IOUT) with current mode control for fast loop response. A wide 3.3V to 45V input voltage (VIN) range on the MP4313 allows a variety of step-down applications in automotive input environments. A high-duty cycle and low-dropout mode enable automotive cold-crank conditions. The MP4313 converters offer a 1.7μA shutdown current (ISD) for battery-powered applications.

The MPS MP4313 synchronous step-down converters implement a high power conversion efficiency spanning the entire load range by scaling down the switching frequency (fSW) under light-load conditions. This operation also reduces switching and gate driver losses. Furthermore, an open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is within 95% to 105% of its nominal voltage.

The Frequency foldback option prevents inductor current (IL) runaway during start-up, while a thermal shutdown supports a reliable, fault-tolerant operation.

The MP4313 is housed in a QFN-20 (4mm x 4mm) package.
