Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP4312 Synchronous Step-Down Converters

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP4312 Synchronous Step-Down Converters offer integrated internal high-side and low-side power MOSFETs (HS-FET and LS-FET). The MP4312 allows up to 2A of highly efficient output current (IOUT) with current mode control for fast loop response.

The MPS MP4312 synchronous step-down converters provide a wide 3.3V to 45V input voltage (VIN) range, enabling various step-down applications in automotive input environments. The device implements a 1.7μA shutdown current (ISD) for battery-powered applications. A high power conversion efficiency across a wide load range is accomplished by scaling down the switching frequency (fSW) under light-load conditions to decrease the switching and gate driver losses. Furthermore, an open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is within 95% to 105% of its nominal voltage.

The frequency foldback prevention keeps the inductor current (IL) from running away during start-up, and thermal shutdown delivers reliable fault-tolerant operation. High-duty cycle and low-dropout mode are equipped for automotive cold-crank conditions.

The MP4312 converters are housed in a QFN-20 (4mm x 4mm) package.
