Molex Road Noise Cancellation Sensor with Accelerometer and Microphone (RNC-AM) features A2B technology and converts vehicle chassis vibration and airborne noise into a signal. This signal generates a cancellation soundwave, reducing unwanted noise within a vehicle’s cabin. The sensor is connected through daisy-chained cabling, which eliminates the weight of heavy star-pattern or home-run wire harnessing and sound-dampening materials. Network technology minimizes the time between the sensor receiving the vibration excitation and the processing unit receiving the signal, which means the noise is canceled more efficiently. Plus, the sensor can measure road noise at slower speeds and be placed farther away from the sound source while providing more network data channels.
The sensor casings carry an IP6K9K enclosure rating to protect the system from the water and dust of harsh automotive environments. The Molex RNC-AM sensors utilize the space-saving Molex Sealed Mini50 Connector interface. Various mechanical housing configurations
offer flexibility for orienting the sensing element parallel or perpendicular to the ground, which allows multiple connector orientations and terminal sizes. Depending on the need, RNC systems can also be configured with four to eight sensors.
