Mikroe Proximity 18 Click is a close-range proximity sensing solution on a compact add-on board. The Proximity 18 Click is based on the Vishay Semiconductors VCNL3036X01 high-resolution digital proximity sensor. The VCNL3036X01 integrates a mux and a driver for three external LEDs near the chip on the board, photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital conversion circuits into a single CMOS chip.
The Mikroe Proximity 18 Click supplies absolute distance measurement, despite the target color and reflectance, and has an accuracy of up to 50cm. Additionally, the Click board is ideal for proximity/optical switch applications for consumer, computing, automotive, and industrial purposes.
