Midwest Microwave / Cinch Connectivity Solutions Qualified Parts for Space (QPS) Attenuators are specially designed space applications. These attenuators are built using materials that meet or exceed 1% Total Mass Loss (TML) and 0.1% Collected Volatile Condensable Materials (CVCM) requirements, as tested per ASTM E595. They are qualified using testing guided by MIL-DTL-3933 Level T qualifications. Standard dB values include 1dB, 2dB, 3dB, 6dB, 10dB, and 20dB.
Midwest Microwave / Cinch Connectivity Solutions QPS Attenuators are available with three standard screening options and various severity of screening.
Screening Level A attenuators are recommended for non-flight applications. They feature thermo-vacuum chamber testing, pre-flight testing, and pre-flight system evaluation.
Screening Level B utilizes the absolute minimum testing recommended for space flight applications. This level offers a cost-effective space attenuator option for low orbit satellites.
Screening Level C provides the highest level of screening and is recommended for all space flight applications, including orbits and for deep space missions. Level C attenuators utilize screening compatible with MIL-DTL-3933 Level T and offer a lead time as short as 10 weeks.
