MaxLinear MxL7218 Dual Channel Power Modules are dual 18A or single 36A output step-down power modules with a 4.5V to 15V input voltage range. These modules support two outputs each with an output voltage range of 0.6V to 1.8V, set by a single external resistor. The MxL7218 power modules are capable of providing up to 216A when paralleled with additional MxL7218 modules. These power modules feature differential remote sense amplifier and peak current mode architecture for a fast transient response with 400kHz to 780kHz adjustable switching frequency. The MxL7218 dual-channel power modules offer overcurrent protection, output overvoltage protection, under-voltage lock-out, internal temperature monitor, and thermal shutdown protections.
The complete switch-mode DC/DC power supply integrates the control, drivers, bootstrap diodes, bootstrap capacitors, inductors, MOSFETs, and HF-bypass capacitors in a single package for point-of-load conversions. The MxL7218 power modules are available in a thermally enhanced space-saving 16mm x 16mm x 5.01mm RoHS compliant BGA package. Typical applications include telecom and networking equipment, industrial equipment, and test equipment.
