Infineon Technologies Motor Control Shield with BTN7030-1EPA for Arduino

Infineon Technologies Motor Control Shield fwith BTN7030-1EPA or Arduino is a monolithic chip integrated in SMART7 technology and the BTN7030-1EPA half-bridge adds powerful motor control to Arduino projects. This shield can be controlled with the general logic IO-ports of a microcontroller. The motor control shield uses an Arduino Uno R3 or the XMC1100 boot kit as the master. This shield drives either one brushed bi-directional DC motor or two uni-directional DC motors. The motor control shield for Arduino is capable of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) up to 2kHz and offers status flag diagnosis with current sense capability. This motor control shield also offers protection against overtemperature, overcurrent, cross current, and under-voltage.

Features

  • An Arduino Uno R3 or XMC1100 Boot Kit can control the two BTN7030-1EPA devices via the general IO pins
  • 6V to 18V nominal input voltage range (maximum 3.8V to 28V)
  • 7A typical nominal current (current limitation is temperature-dependent – 14A @ 150ºC)
  • Drives either one brushed bi-directional DC motor or two uni-directional DC motors
  • Capable of PWM up to 2kHz
  • Status flag diagnosis with current sense capability
  • ~5% current sense accuracy
  • Protection against overtemperature, overcurrent, cross current, and under-voltage
  • Voltage clamping
  • OFF state diagnosis (missing load and short circuit to battery or ground)
