Infineon BGT60ATR24C XENSIV™ Automotive 60GHz Radar Sensor enables ultra-wide bandwidth Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) operation in a small package. The BGT60ATR24C is designed for in-vehicle occupancy detection (scanning the cabin for people and pets). Sensor configuration and data acquisition are enabled with a digital interface. An integrated state machine enables independent data acquisition with power mode optimization for low power consumption.
The core functionality of BGT60ATR24C is to transmit FMCW signals via one of the two transmitter channels (TX) and receive the echo signals from the target object on the four receiving channels (RX). Each receiver path includes baseband filtering, a Video Graphics Array VGA), and an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). The digitized output is stored in a FIFO. The data is transferred to an external host, a microcontroller unit (MCU), or an application processor (AP), to run radar signal processing.
