Infineon Technologies Analog DC-DC IPOL Voltage Regulators are fully integrated and highly efficient DC-DC buck regulators. These devices are available in 12A and 20A versions. These devices use a fast Constant On-Time (COT) control scheme, simplifying design efforts and achieving fast transient response while maintaining excellent line and load regulation. Using an external bias supply, it can operate over a wide input voltage range (2.7V to 16V).
Each device is a versatile regulator, offering switching frequency selectable from 600kHz, 800kHz, and 1MHz, programmable current limit, and soft-start time with a minimum of 1ms or 1.5ms. Each device also includes Forced Continuous Conduction Mode (FCCM) and Diode Emulation Mode (DEM) operation. These Infineon Technologies Analog DC-DC IPOL Voltage Regulators support voltage tracking with an external reference input. It also features important protection functions, such as pre-bias start-up, thermally compensated current limit, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, and thermal shutdown to give required system-level security in the event of fault conditions. These devices are available in a standard QFN-21 (3mm x 4mm) package and can operate over a wide temperature range (-40°C < Tj < 125°C).
