HUBER+SUHNER RF-over-Fiber Solutions enable the use of radio frequency and fiber optics in a single system. The RF-over-Fiber series includes three product lines: RF-over-Fiber (RFoF), GPS-over-Fiber (GPSoF), and LAN-over-Fiber (LANoF). RF-over-Fiber systems allow for greater distances between the RF source and the RF receiver system, are immune to EMI, RFI, and EMP, and are more difficult to intercept or “tap”.
Standard RF-over-Fiber modules are available in 1, 6, and 12 ports and offer a 1MHz to 40GHz frequency range. The systems are capable of covering distances up to 100km and are ideal for applications requiring secure, low loss, lightweight, and high-density connectivity.
GPS-over-Fiber modules focus on distributing a single GPS signal into multiple receiver systems, ensuring signal data, such as time synchronization into separate, yet connected, systems is always the same. GPSoF systems feature both single and multiport solutions and accommodate both L1 and L2 bands. Huber+Suhner now provides Direct GPS-over-Fiber GNSS remote antennas that are 100% copper-free and designed for telecommunication and data center users in search of scalable timing infrastructure for outdoor remote antenna applications.
LAN-over-Fiber modules are available in 1, 6, and 12 ports and can be easily integrated into existing network infrastructures. The LANoF system is specifically well-suited to applications that require “field LAN” capabilities for data synchronization, diagnostics, remote identification, and software distribution.
