DFRobot ESP32-S2 Wi-Fi® Modules (PCB Antenna) are generic Wi-Fi MCU modules that feature rich peripherals and high performance. These modules feature an ESP32-S2 chip that is based on the Xtensa® 32-bit LX7 CPU and can operate at up to 240MHz. The ULP co-processor can run while the chip is in sleep mode (CPU powered down). This allows these modules to be used to monitor the state change of peripheral devices or detect if an analog quantity exceeds the preset threshold. The ESP32-S2 modules feature peripheral interfaces including SPI, I2S, UART, I2C, LED, PWM, LCD interface, camera interface, ADC, DAC, touch sensor, temperature sensor, and 43 GPIOs.
The ESP32-S2 includes a Wi-Fi subsystem that integrates a Wi-Fi MAC, Wi-Fi radio and baseband, RF switch, RF balun, power amplifier, and Low Noise Amplifier (LNA). These chips also include a full-speed USB On-The-Go (OTG) interface to enable USB communication. The ESP32-S2 integrates advanced calibration circuitries that allow it to dynamically adjust itself to remove external circuit imperfections or adjust to changes in external conditions. This chip is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.11b/g/n protocol and offers a complete Wi-Fi solution.
The ESP32-S2 modules operate at the 3V to 3.6V voltage range and –40°C to 85°C operating temperature range. Typical applications include the Internet of Things (IoT), wearable electronics, and smart homes.
