Broadcom AEDR-9940 Optical Encoders

Broadcom AEDR-9940 Optical Encoders are versatile three-channel reflective optical encoders. The Broadcom AEDR-9940 encoders offer selectable options for three-channel digital or analog differential outputs (A, B, I). In analog mode, the device provides three channels of differential analog outputs (Sine+, Sine-, Cos+, Cos-, I+, I-) for direct interfacing with external interpolators. In digital mode, it delivers two-channel quadrature digital outputs (AB) and a third channel for digital indexing. TTL compatibility allows it to easily interface with various signal processing circuitries, providing seamless integration into existing systems.

Features

  • Analog output option – 3x channels single-ended, differential analog output, and analog or digital index output
  • Digital output option – 3x channels differential or TTL compatible
  • 2-channel quadrature (AB) digital outputs for direction sensing and a 3rd channel, index (I) digital output
  • Wide selection of built-in interpolator with 1x to 6x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 16x, 20x, 25x, 32x, 50x, 64x, 80x, 100x, 128x, 160x, 256x, 320x, 640x to 1000x
