Broadcom AEDR-98×0 Reflective Incremental Encoders integrate an LED light source and photo-detecting circuitry in a single package. These three-channel reflective optical encoders can be configured to analog or digital outputs employing Reflective Technology for motion control. The selectable options are two channels differential analog with a third-channel differential digital or analog index output or three-channel digital differential A, B, and I output.
In analog mode, the AEDR-98×0 Encoders offer two-channel differential analog output (Sin, /Sin, Cos, /Cos), which can be interfaced directly with external interpolators. In digital mode, the AEDR-98×0 Encoders offer two-channel (AB) quadrature digital output and a 3rd channel digital index output with differential outputs available for all channels. Being TTL compatible, the outputs can be interfaced with most signal processing circuitries, providing easy integration and flexible design into existing systems.
The AEDR-98×0 Encoders are housed in a compact 4.0mm x 4.0mm x 1.10mm package, operate over a -40°C to +115°C temperature range, and are suitable for commercial, industrial, and automotive applications.
