Boréas Technologies BOS1901 Piezo Haptic Drivers with digital front end are single-chip piezo actuator driver with energy recovery, based on a patent-pending CapDrive™ technology. The BOS1901 drives actuators with up to 190Vpk-pk waveforms while operating from a 3V to 5.5V supply voltage. The Driver’s input digital stream is written in the internal FIFO over the digital interface to generate the desired output waveform. The BOS1901 Piezo Haptic Drivers deliver low power and small size, suitable for various applications requiring minimal power consumption and heat dissipation.
The Boréas BOS1901 Piezo Haptic Drivers utilizes a high-speed SPI in the digital front end. The SPI enables the BOS1901 to share a common communication bus for multi-actuator systems and allows the user to question various data such as the actuator voltage for sensing applications (e.g., piezo buttons). Additionally, the Piezo Haptic Drivers feature low distortion waveforms and quiet actuator operation.
The BOS1901 Drivers provides a unidirectional power input (UPI) designed for systems that cannot handle reverse current flow in the power delivery network. With a typical start-up time of less than 300µs, the Drivers are latency negligible in most systems. Furthermore, the device has safety systems to protect from damage in case of a fault.
The BOS1901 Piezo Haptic Drivers are available in a 20L 4mm x 4mm x 0.8mm 0.5P QFN package.
