Analog Devices MAX77831 High-Efficiency Buck-Boost Converter is designed for systems requiring a wide input voltage range (2.5V to 16V). The MAX77831 supplies 18W of continuous output power, for example, up to 2A at 9V (VIN ≥ 4V). The MAX77831 Converter has a 5V default output voltage when using internal feedback resistors. The Converter can also be configured to any default output voltages between 3V and 15V when using external feedback resistors. The IC only operates in forced-PWM (FPWM) mode.
The Analog Devices MAX77831 Buck-Boost Converter offers an SEL pin enabling a single external resistor to program four different I2C interface slave addresses, four different switching-current limit thresholds, and selection between external/internal feedback resistors. External feedback resistors allow for a wider output voltage range and customizable output voltages at startup.
The Converter is ideal for non-battery powered applications up to 16V input and battery-powered applications up to 16V input with EN control. The MAX77831 is available in a 2.86mm x 2.06mm 35-bump wafer-level package (WLP).
