Analog Devices Inc. MAX17701EVKITA Evaluation Kit provides the requirements for evaluating the MAX17701. The MAX17701 Synchronous Step-Down Supercapacitor Charger Controller is part of the Himalaya series of voltage regulator ICs, power modules, and chargers. The MAX17701 is a high efficiency, high voltage controller designed to operate over an input voltage range of a 4.5V to 60V.

ADI MAX17701EVKITA Evaluation Kit provides constant current (CC) mode and constant voltage (CV) modes to charge supercapacitors. The Evaluation Kit is intended to transfer 20A CC mode current (ICHGMAX) and 5V CV mode voltage (VOUT) from a 9V to 60V input supply. The MAX17701EVKITA Kit supports up to 10A continuous load, connected in parallel to supercapacitors at the output.

The MAX17701EVKITA Kit is optimized for a 24V nominal input voltage application. The MAX17701EVKITA Kit’s switching frequency is set at 350kHz (fSW) for optimum efficiency and component size. The MAX17701EVKITA Kit features a safety timer (TMR) to set the maximum allowed constant current (CC) mode charging time.
