Analog Devices Inc. ADAF1080 Magnetic-Field Sensors

Analog Devices ADAF1080 Magnetic-Field Sensors combine integrated signal conditioning with an AMR sensor and a signal-conditioning amplifier. The single-axis, high-precision magnetic-field sensors provide electrical-offset cancellation capabilities, integrated diagnostics, and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) driver for precisely measuring magnetic fields up to ±8mT.

The ADI ADAF1080 sensor features two die within one package, an AMR sensor, and an application-specific IC (ASIC). The device has a precision amplified output signal proportional to the magnetic field strength along the sensitive axis of the sensor. The output voltage is ratiometric to the supply voltage with a common mode of half the voltage set on the external VSET input pin. The magnetic orientation of the sensor can be defined through an integrated flip coil that can be used for electrical offset cancellation in the presence of a constant magnetic field. Diagnostics can be carried out using an integrated diagnostic coil to measure the system’s gain or detect a magnetic saturation event.

The ADAF1080 is housed in a 20-lead LFCSP with an exposed pad.
