Ambiq Apollo4 Blue Plus System-on-Chip extends the Apollo4 Plus product family with low-power BLUETOOTH® Low Energy 5.1. The Apollo4 Blue Plus System-on-Chip allows next-generation wearables and smart device designers to create more stunning user interface (Ul) effects and overall user experience. The SoC is engineered upon Ambiq’s proprietary Subthreshold Power-Optimized Technology (SPOT”) platform. The complete hardware and software solution of the Apollo4 Blue Plus allows wireless battery-powered endpoint devices to reach a higher level of intelligence without sacrificing battery life.
The Ambiq Apollo4 Blue Plus includes a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M4 core with a Floating Point Unit (FPU) and a BLUETOOTH Low Energy 5.1 radio. There are two variants in BGA packages. The AMA4BKP-KBR is pin-compatible with the Apollo4 Blue AMA4BKK-KBR for easy migration. The AMA4BKP-KXR includes a HexSPI interface for faster access to PSRAM or other external memory for richer graphics. With up to 2MB of MRAM and 2.75MB of SRAM, the Apollo4 Blue Plus has enough computing and storage to handle complex algorithms and neural networks while displaying vibrant, crystal-clear, and smooth graphics. External memory is supported through Ambiq’s high bandwidth multi-bit SPI and eMMC interfaces if additional memory is required.
The Apollo4 Blue Plus is purpose-built to serve as an application processor and a coprocessor for battery-powered endpoint devices. These devices include smartwatches, children’s watches, fitness bands, far-field voice remotes, animal trackers, predictive health and maintenance, and the smart home.
