Renesas Electronics RZ/N Series Microprocessors (MPUs) are scalable and high-performance Arm®-based communication devices that support multiple industrial network protocols and redundant network technologies on a single device. To simplify protocol implementation, the RZ/N Series features a unified protocol communication abstraction layer that allows the user to switch from one protocol to another quickly, all in the same platform. The RZ/N devices are ideal for many industrial applications such as intelligent gateways and protocol converters, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote IO units, and networked intelligent endpoints for the Industry 4.0/Industrial IoT realm of applications.
The Renesas Electronics RZ/N1 features a dual/single Arm Cortex®-A7, up to 6MB of SRAM, and a 5-port Gigabit switch with advanced networking features. The RZ/N1 also includes on-chip security and leverages the industry-proven R-IN Engine, improving network performance.
The RZ/N2L features an Arm Cortex-R52 core with a maximum 400MHz operating frequency and an integrated 3-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that supports the next-generation network standard TSN in addition to major Industrial Ethernet protocols such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP.
