Qorvo ACT88420 Advanced PMIC

Qorvo ACT88420 Advanced PMIC offers four bucks, two LDOs, and load bypass switches. The ACT88420 integrated ActiveCiPS™ power management integrated circuit is designed o power a wide range of processors, including solid-state drive applications, video processors, FPGAs, peripherals, and microcontrollers. The device features 3-State GPIOs plus I2C communication, providing support in multiple configurations without needing PCB changes. Time to market is significantly increased via the PMIC’s low external component count and high configurability.

The Qorvo ACT88420 Advanced PMIC has many configurable options, including output voltage as low as 0.5V, startup time, slew rate, system level sequencing, switching frequency, low power modes, and operating modes.

The ACT88420 features four DC/DC step-down converters with integrated power FETs and two low-dropout regulators (LDOs). Buck1, LDO1, and LDO2 can be configured as a load switch. Buck4 can be configured as an LDO. Each DC/DC regulator requires only three small components for operation. The LDOs only need two small ceramic capacitors. All outputs are highly configurable via the I2C interface.
