Pico Technology Probe Positioning System provides a solution to hold a PCB under test firmly in place and accurately position as many test probes as required. This design leaves the designer’s hands free to operate the oscilloscope or other test equipment. The holders feature a flexible “gooseneck” positioning system that uses the Pico 2.5mm fine-pitch probe supplied with the PicoScope 6000 series oscilloscopes. The weighted probe holder uses gravity to push the sprung probe tip just enough to make good contact with the board or component under test.
The system can be used for inspection or for soldering as the PCB is held firmly in place by four spring-loaded magnetic pillars. A rigid but lightweight steel baseplate keeps the pillars and probe holders stable. The plate has a mirror finish on one side, allowing the user to see status LEDs on the underside of the PCB.
The probe holders include colored silicone cable ties to secure the probe cable to the probe holder gooseneck. This adds balance also identifying which probes are connected to which channels.
Pico Technology Probe Positioning System is offered in a kit for use with four- or eight-channel oscilloscopes. These kits are available with or without probes.
