Melexis MLX91218 400kHz IMC-Hall® Current Sensors are high-speed, high-accuracy, monolithic sensors with dual OverCurrent Detection (OCD) functionality, a 3.3V to 5V supply, and an improved SNR. The IMC-Hall technology uses a flexible U-shield for crosstalk immunity and measures currents in the ranges of 200A to 2000A. The sensor provides an analog output voltage proportional to the applied magnetic flux density parallel to the IC surface. A factory-trimmed over-temperature transfer characteristic is programmable (offset, sensitivity, filtering, internal overcurrent threshold) during end-of-line customer calibration.
Packaged in a SOIC-8 package, the MLX91218 400kHz IMC-Hall® Current Sensors from Melexis include a second OCD. The on-chip overcurrent detection reports OCD events with active low open-drain output and can be set within or outside the linear sensing range. The 400kHz bandwidth and fast-response time allow adaptation to high-speed applications such as motor control, inverters, and converters where fast response time, due to fast switching, is required.
