Infineon Technologies TLE4972 XENSIV™ Magnetic Coreless Current Sensor integrates an analog sensor signal proportional to the measured current and two fast overcurrent detection pins. The TLE4972 is robust against stray fields with the differential measurement principle and ideal for current EMC-prone measurements.
The Infineon TLE4972 digitally assisted analog provides superior stability over temperature and lifetime due to the proprietary digital stress and temperature compensation along with the robust Hall technology. The Magnetic Sensor’s coreless Sensor design avoids adverse effects such as saturation and hysteresis, which are generally from sensors using iron cores for flux concentration.
According to AEC Q100 and ISO 26262 Safety Element, the sensor is qualified out of Context for safety requirements up to ASIL B. These requirements support safety-critical applications like traction inverter and battery main switches.
The sensor is available in a PG-TDSO-16 package suitable for use in 48V and high voltage applications due to its external current rail concept.
