Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated MAX18000 nanoPower Boost Converter

Analog Devices Inc. MAX18000 nanoPower Boost Converter features an input voltage range of 0.5V to 5.5V, a switching current limit of 3.6A, and an ultralow quiescent current of 512nA. The IC operates in nanoPower mode at low loads and transitions into skip and CCM modes at higher load currents to ensure high efficiency over a wide current range. Using a single RSEL resistor, the output voltage can be varied between 2.5V and 5.5V. True Shutdown™ mode disconnects VIN and VOUT when the EN pin is pulled low. The ADI MAX18000 also features short-circuit protection circuitry that limits the current to 700mA when VOUT < 0.5V and automatically restarts the part when the fault is removed. Thermal-shutdown protection disables the part when the junction temperature crosses +165°C (typical). The full-featured, 1.07mm x 1.57mm, 6-bump wafer-level package (WLP) is ideal for battery-powered applications requiring a long standby time.
