Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP4323 Synchronous Step-Down Converters are frequency-configurable (350kHz to 2.5MHz), synchronous, step-down switching converters with integrated internal high-side and low-side power MOSFETs (HS-FET and LS-FET, respectively). The MP4323 delivers up to 3A of highly efficient output current (IOUT) with peak current control mode. The MP4323 offers a 3.3V to 36V wide input voltage (VIN) range and 42V load dump tolerance to adapt to various step-down applications in automotive input environments. The 1μA shutdown current (ISD) enables the device to be used in battery-powered applications.
The MPS MP4323 Synchronous Step-Down Converters provide high power conversion efficiency across a wide load range that is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency (fSW) under light-load conditions to reduce the switching and gate driver losses. An open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output voltage (VOUT) is between 94.5% and 105.5% of its nominal voltage.
Frequency foldback prevents inductor current (IL) runaway during start-up. Thermal shutdown supplies reliable, fault-tolerant operation.
A high-duty cycle and low-dropout mode are implemented for automotive cold-crank conditions.
The MP4323 is housed in a QFN-12 (2mm x 3mm) package.
