e-peas AEM00330 Ambient Energy Manager is a highly versatile buck-boost ambient energy manager with source voltage level configuration. This energy manager is an integrated energy management circuit that extracts DC power from a harvesting source to supply an application and store energy simultaneously. The AEM00330 extends the battery lifetime and ultimately eliminates the primary energy storage element in a large range of applications. This energy manager features a 140mV to 4.5V selectable operates input voltage range and cold start from 275mV input voltage at 3µW input power (typical). The AEM00330 ambient energy manager operates at -40°C to 125°C junction temperature range and comes in a QFN 40-pin 5mm x 5m package. Typical applications include door access systems, smart wearable sensors, smart switches in homes/buildings, and Point-Of-Sales (POS).

      • The storage element can be used as an input to keep the load and internal voltages regulated when no energy is available on the source

    • Selectable load voltage from 1.2V to 3.3V
    • Current drive capability:
      • 30 mA in low power mode and 60mA in high power mode
  • Battery protection features:
    • Selectable over-charge and over-discharge protection for any type of rechargeable battery or (super-) capacitor
    • Fast super-capacitor charging
    • Dual cell super-capacitor balancing circuit
  • Smallest footprint and smallest BOM:
    • Only four external components are required
    • One 10µH inductor
    • Three capacitors:
      • one 10µF
      • one 22µF
      • one at least 40µF
