TDK MLJ-G Series Fixed Inductors are compact components designed for use in automotive Power over Coax (PoC) implementations. MLJ-G inductors feature a maximum impedance rating of 2500Ω and offer less current variation when compared to conventional multilayer inductors. These inductors achieve a high-rated current of 500mA despite the 1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.8mm dimensions, significantly reducing variation in impedance during current applications. Many automotive camera systems using LVDS transmission are adopting a PoC approach, which superimposes data and power supply onto a single coaxial cable. By transmitting data in addition to supplying power, PoC reduces the number of wire harnesses required, contributing to reducing the weight of the vehicle and allowing space savings to be realized. Separating data from the power supply in a PoC circuit requires effective filtering that generally consists of 2 to 4 inductors.
