Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV173A-S-00A/EV173A-J-00A Evaluation Boards are designed to demonstrate the capabilities of MP173A. The MP173A is a primary-side constant voltage regulator, which provides accurate constant voltage (CV) regulation without an optocoupler. The device supports buck, buck-boost, boost, and flyback topologies. The Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV173A-S-00A/EV173A-J-00A evaluation boards are designed as a buck application. They typically output 3W with a 12V/250mA load from 85VAC to 265VAC input.
These EV173A-S-00A/EV173A-J-00A evaluation boards have excellent efficiency and meet IEC61000-4-5 surge immunity, and EN55022 conducted EMI requirements. Most of all, the radiation performance gets improved compared with MP173. MP173A features various protections, including thermal shutdown (TSD), VCC under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-load protection (OLP), short- circuit protection (SCP), and open-loop protection. The EV173A-S-00A is for the MP173A in a SOIC-8 package and the EV173A-J-00A is for the MP173A in a TSOT23-5 package.
