STMicroelectronics EVALMASTERGAN Demonstration Boards are an easy to use and quick to adapt tool, designed to evaluate the MASTERGAN1 or MASTERGAN2 System-in-Package. The MASTERGAN1 System-in-Package implements a high power density power supply that integrates both a gate driver and two enhancement-mode GaN transistors in a half-bridge configuration. The MASTERGAN2 is an advanced power system-in-package integrating a gate driver and two enhancement-mode GaN transistors in an asymmetrical half‑bridge configuration. The EVALMASTERGAN Demonstration Boards quickly creates new topologies without the need for a complete PCB design.

The STM EVALMASTERGAN1 or EVALMASTERGAN2 Demonstration Boards feature an on-board programmable input deadtime generator with a single VCC supply (Typ. 6V). Furthermore, the Board offers an embedded linear voltage regulator with a 3.3V rail to supply a low voltage logic circuit, like microcontrollers or FPGA.

They also include additional footprints for customization into the final application. These customizations include using a separate input signal or single PWM signal, use of external bootstrap diode, individual supply for VCC, PVCC, or Vbo, and the use of low side shunt resistor for peak current mode topologies. All pins of the MASTERGAN1 and MASTERGAN2 are accessible.

The boards are an FR-4 PCB that measures 56 x 70mm wide, resulting in an Rth(J-A) of 35°C/W, without forced airflow.
