Omron Electronics B5L 3D Time of Flight (TOF) Sensor Module offers a three-dimensional distance measurement capability of people and objects. The module features an embedded 3D sensor with high ambient light immunity and provides high precision, long life, and interference prevention. The sensor utilizes unique optical design technology for a stable measurement of three-dimensional distance information across a wide area, even under sunlight. The module offers specifications optimized for long periods of continuous operation to allow it to be used as an embedded sensor in various instruments. This design results in a “mechanical eye” that is capable of accurately and easily detecting the surrounding environment. A TOF (Time of Flight) sensor uses the flight time of light to measure distances to objects. As well as being able to turn captured images into 3D images, it can also measure at a speed of 20 frames per second, allowing it to track the movement of objects three-dimensionally.
