Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated MAX17703 Evaluation Kit

Analog Devices MAX17703 Evaluation Kit allows users to evaluate the MAX17703 high-efficiency, high-voltage, Himalaya synchronous step-down DC-DC Li-ion charger controller. The MAX17703 Evaluation Kit charges the Li-ion battery in constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) states and terminates in a top-up-charge state after the taper timer is elapsed. The MAX17703 Evaluation Kit is designed to charge the Li-ion battery with 10A CC mode charging current (ICHGMAX) and 4.2V CV mode voltage (VOUT) from an 8.5V to 60V input supply.

The Analog Devices MAX17703 Evaluation Kit is optimized for a 24V nominal input application. The switching frequency of the kit is set at 350kHz (fSW) for excellent efficiency and component size. The Evaluation Kit features a safety timer (TMR) to set the maximum allowed CC mode and CV mode charging time. The Evaluation Kit also offers battery temperature sensing and charges only when the temperature is in the allowable charging temperature range.
